How much coffee do we drink?
1.4 billion cups of coffee are drunk
around the world every day, making it the most popular beverage in the world.
Who drinks the most coffee?
Contrary to popular belief, it isn't the Italians, Spanish, French
or Greeks! Scandinavians are the biggest consumers.
What is "espresso" coffee?
Espresso is Italy's greatest contribution to world coffee. It's name means the
coffee is prepared at the moment it is requested “expressly
for the client”. Espresso preparation is an art in Italy.
How is "espresso" made?
7 grams of finely ground coffee
is packed into the espresso filter and water with a pressure of 8-10 atmospheres and a temperature
between 80-92ºC is passed through it to produce a concentrate of aromas and flavours.
Why is "espresso" so small?
A good cup of espresso is so packed with aroma and flavour that just a few sips rewards with
a long, lingering taste.
